Emergency Warning & Intercommunication Systems
Inspection, Test And Routine Servicing
Requirements for the inspection and test of an emergency warning and intercommunication system are to ensure that the entire system is operational and functioning correctly to the Standards for the life safety system.
This system exists to efficiently evacuate the buildings occupants and to ensure that they have suffucient time to exit before a fire becomes too large and/or out of control.
Decibel (dB) tests are required under this section of AS1851, and every year we are required to check the tones in all areas, then every five years, we are required to check dB levels in all areas.
At Extreme Fire Solution we are testing, the dBs each year regardless as it takes no extra time to ensure that every occupant can clearly hear the tones that may save their life.
