Focused On The Environment.
Extreme Fire Solutions is committed to performing its activities in an environmentally responsible manner by effectively managing any risk that may impact the environment. We manage our work activities in a manner that is consistent with the principles of ecologically sustainable development and will deliver continuous improvement in environmental performance, taking all steps necessary to ensure activities do not compromise this commitment.
Promoting Accountability
Our Environment Policy Statement receives the highest priority from our senior management and this priority is communicated to all personnel connected with the company. Managers and Work Supervisors are responsible to implement this policy within their work areas.
Specifically,
i) they must proactively address issues that may effect environmental performance at project worksites for which Extreme Fire Solutions is responsible.
ii) they are responsible to actively contribute towards avoiding or minimising environmental impacts in their day to day activities with the effective installation and operation of environmental controls within the scope of their day to day work.
Making a Difference
Extreme Fire Solutions will reduce and recycle waste materials, where possible, and dispose of other waste material in a responsible manner. We undertake to consult our team, our sub-contractors and our clients on environmental matters, especially where any workplace change or practice may impact the environment or their obligations.
We are committed to offering our clients environmentally conscious solutions consistent with their corporate policies and values. These include recycling water and minimising the use of harmful chemicals.
The Journey to Paperless
As just one examples of our initiatives to promote environmentally sustainable solutions, Extreme Fire Solutions prides itself on running a ‘paperless office’.
As a means to providing a greater client experience, Extreme Fire has implemented Digital Testing regimes. This simple change, while fully compliant, is a method that yields a significant reduction in the use of untidy, unsightly and cumbersome Log Books, while at the same time introducing greater efficiency, transparency and accessibility through Digital Reporting.
More Initiatives….
Recycled Materials
Australian Standards for Design, Installation & Maintenance of Fire Protection Systems & Equipment are some of the most stringent in the world. Equipment that may no longer be for used in Fire Protection may still have practical use elsewhere.
Extreme Fire donate and re-cycle equipment in many different ways including -
Donating non-complying fire extinguishers and hose reels to Rural Fire Services for training purposes;
Donating non-complying fire hose reels to farmers;
Recycling fire doors for Acoustic Wall Linings
Steel & Metal recycling of redundant piping, light fittings and fire panels; and
Aluminium recycling of fire door smoke seals and meeting stiles.
Recycled Batteries
Extreme Fire Solutions always consider the environmental impact surrounding battery replacements, and maintains a battery recycling program of all battery sizes, right down to 9 Volt batteries used in smoke alarms.
In accordance with Australian Standards for Routine Service of Fire Protection Systems & Equipment, batteries serving fire systems typically require load bank testing every two years. Whilst load bank testing may be desirable, it can often prove difficult - depending on the system, size and type of batteries involved.
With this in mind, Extreme Fire would provide our client with the most economical and sustainable solution where battery replacement may be required in lieu of load bank testing.
Fire Extinguishers
To offer the most economical solutions, we provide a ‘Swap & Go’ style service, whereby we maintain a stock of pressurised Portable Fire Extinguishers (PFE) to simply ‘swap out’ your expired equipment. This reduces costs and unnecessary travel.
Where PFE needs to be replaced, is damaged or where replacement is more economical compared to recharge or the ‘Swap & Go’ option, Extreme Fire maintains a unit recycling program, minimising the impact on the environment.
In accordance with Australian Standards for Routine Service of Fire Protection Systems & Equipment, fire extinguishers are required to be pressure tested and re-charged at Yearly, 3-Yearly and 5-Yearly frequencies, dependent on their type.
